Tenure Application Update

I am very fortunate to have a Department Head who keeps me up-to-date on the status of my tenure & promotion application.

I know that my colleagues in different departments within the Faculty of Medicine who submitted their applications as I did on September 1st have heard absolutely nothing since submission.

My Department Head does not give me details, but simply lets me know of each step that my application successfully passes through. I am very grateful for such updates.

Today I was informed that the external reviews of my application came back. Thumbs up, no questions asked.

Now? Onward and upward to the Faculty of Medicine's Tenure & Promotion Committee. My Department Head informs me that this is the longest stage of the entire process simply because of timing. It's the holiday season. I should expect that nothing more will happen until mid-to-late January or even into February.

I am, quite unexpectedly, alright with waiting.

Every time I see that you have a new post, I think, "I wonder if it's about her tenure." Not that I don't appreciate kitty posts (condolences & congratulations, btw) but I was wondering how the process was going. Completely foreign to me, but obviously vital for you. Chin up; happy waiting. [grin]

Can't say I don't blame you. Sounds like it's been a long process and quite stressful.

Enjoy the holidays and the new kitty.
